The originals are from J.Crew and are now longer available in this color, although they sometimes show up for sale on Ebay and the fan forums.
Features Wanted:
- Darker beige or sand colored suede
- Higher cut with speed lacing
- Brick red sole
Best Option: Aldo Meggiano (from user Enjoying Death on AJB007); sizes in these are down 10 and 10.5 but they are on sale for $76.99. Sold out now, but I’ll keep checking for a re-stock or re-issue.
Update: It looks like Aldo has replaced the Meggiano with a new model called the Akhavan. Currently $150.00 with decent size availability.
Other Options:
J Crew Kenton in Boulder, regularly $228.00 but they’ve been as low as $159.60 with codes and sales. Looks like they recently restocked the sizes as well.
Bass Plano on sale for $62.99 but sizes are getting thin. Those of you in the UK can find them at Lord and Taylor for £88.19.
Nordstrom has the 1901 ‘Grant’ Plain Toe Boot on sale for $76.90. Has the right “Sahara” color, but no brick red sole.
Geox U Jheryz B Abx 1 on sale for $136.36.
